TOS Trenčín Oil Filter Maintenance for SN Lathes
In order to keep you SN lathe going smoothly, you need to clean the oil filter 803260 from time to time. The oil filter is located on the back of speed gearbox. There is a handle on the filter, that can be turned in order to move the discs in the filter and cleaning it. If the filter gets too dirty or you cannot turn the handle you need to take the filter out and clean it manually.
First you need to drain the oil out of the speed gearbox. Remove the 4 screws on the filter itself and pull the filter out. Clean the filter manually, best thing is to soak it in a strong cleaner or diesel overnight. Remove any remaining residues and put the filter back. For sealing your best option is silicone, as most likely the cork seal will be damaged.
This version of the filter was manufactured for the A and B models of all SN32, SN40, SN45, SN50, SN55, SN63 and SN71 lathes.

TOS Trenčín Oil Filter Replacement for SN Lathes
Sometimes the filter gets damaged and when beyond repair you need to replace it – see picture on the left. These old type of filters are unfortunately not manufactured anymore. The C versions of SN lathes are manufactured with a Donaldson filter 813019 that can be purchased on our e-shop. Converting your lathe from the old filter 803260 to the new version 813019 is no big issue, as you need only a filter reduction and a new lid to cover it.
Simply screw the filter reduction into the Donaldson filter and put it back into your speed gearbox. Place the lid using 4 Allen screws M6x16 and a little silicone back into place et voilá, the job is done!
